about

Jetske Lieber (1999, Nijmegen) is a film director and screenwriter living in Amsterdam. During their studies at the Netherlands Film Academy they discovered a love for capturing the small things in everyday life.

Jetske’s graduation film January (2024) was awarded the KNF Prize at the Netherlands Film Festival. January had its world premiere at the international competition of the Poitiers Film Festival, where it won the Prix Manifest. In addition, January was selected for various film festivals including Karlovy Vary International Film Festival and won Best Student Narrative at NFFTY (Seattle).

Jetske makes films of close personal relevance, with social dialogue between the lines. In their work they look for akwardness, sincere attempts at connection, the beauty of failure and love! Jetske hopes their films encourage the audience to look at the world more closely, and perhaps more sweetly.
